Can't access my domain

What is the name of the domain?

krml.lt

What is the error message?

ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

What is the issue you’re encountering

After adding cloudflare NSes to my registrar, domain is still not resolving

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Followed all possible solutions I could find. Even deleted my website from CF, made sure DNSSEC is turned off and added domain again (NSes changed). CF confirmed domain is active, added CNAME for all subdomains *, but still nothing

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

DNS records

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

  • Set coraline.ns.cloudflare.com and tanner.ns.cloudflare.com and NSes at my registrar with DNSSEC off
  • Wait for CF to catch the domain
  • Add CNAME for all subdomains *
  • Visit anysubdomain.krml.lt

Note that doesn’t cover krml.lt so you’ll need to create a record for @ in order to use the domain on its own.

The CNAME points to karma-nas.dab-deneb.ts.net, but that doesn’t resolve so that’s your problem.

I don’t want it to be used on it’s own - only via subdomains. My final goal is to set it up with Tailscale to access my home network

OK, I thought karma-nas.dab-deneb.ts.net by itself sould not resolve. I believe it should resolve only if I’m connected via Tailscale app (although it still doesn’t). Sorry, I’m completely new to all of this. Will try to figure out what’s happening on Tailscale side then. Will update here. Thanks

So I managed to set things up, so that karma-nas.dab-deneb.ts.net now resolves to my NAS as expected. But sub.krml.lt still gives me ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED :frowning:

It does not resolve.

dig +short karma-nas.dab-deneb.ts.net

It’s on Tailscale and it resolves when I’m connected to my Tailnet via a client app on the device I’m browsing from

My understanding is, that Cloudflare somehow dowsn’t route my (sub)domain

Cloudflare doesn’t do anything other than return your CNAME, which works correctly.

dig +short test.krml.lt
karma-nas.dab-deneb.ts.net

Everything else is then up to that client app you are using. It’s not something Cloudflare is involved in.

Just got a reply from Tailscale. All I had to do is remove CNAME record and add A for IP :man_facepalming: Worked like a charm
