Cannot create CNAME for AWS

I need to verify the domain for AWS with CNAME. However, it gives me an error DNS Validation Error (Code: 1004) This record type cannot be proxied.

The name is something like abcdefg_domainkey.mywebsite.com
The value is something like abcdefg.dkim.amazonses.com

You don’t want this record proxied in the first place, so keep it :grey:.

I see, should I just paste in like abcdefg_domainkey.mywebsite.com for the name or abcdefg_domainkey or mywebsite.com
For value, should I paste in like abcdefg.dkim.amazonses.com or abcdefg or dkim.amazonses.com

The name should not include your domain. The value should be exactly what you were provided.

Wow, lastly. it gives me this 10 feedback-smtp.us-west-2.amazonses.com for mx.
the 10 is the priority, right? The value should be only feedback-smtp.us-west-2.amazonses.com? It kinda confuses me because it put the 10 together.

That’s correct, though a very different question.
