Cannot add CNAME of Root Domain.

#1

I set the CNAME of Cloudflare CDN through Cloudflare partners and set it.
Here is the CNAME setting:

  1. www.example.com - > www.secret.example.com
  2. example.com - > secret.example.com
When I use another DNS, I can add record 1 normally, but I can’t add record 2. It was prompted not to be allowed.
    How to set it?

The RFCs governing DNS do not allow a CNAME record at the root of the domain. Unless your partner has a DNS system which supports CNAME flattening or ANAME records you can’t.

You could instead sign up with Cloudflare directly if you need to put the root behind Cloudflare as well.
