So I cancelled my newly purchased domain in hopes to move it over to an alternate platform.
How long after the cancellation will the domain be available for purchase elsewhere?
When you cancel a domain, you cancel the renewal of it. Typically, domain purchasing is on a year basis. The domain in question will likely be up for grab in a year plus 30 day grace period from when you first purchased it.

We found your ticket and “cancel” meant that the domain was deleted from your account but you still own the domain name registration which will be available after it expires (if auto-renew is disabled) and it goes to suspension/pending delete and eventually the Registry will release the domain name.
We will reply to the ticket but wanted to provide our feedback here for future reference.
