What is the issue you’re encountering
I’m confused about the cloudflare free SSL.
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
When I go into the SSL/TLS section of my account, when I select my free plan, the ‘next’ button is grayed out. I’m not sure how to do this

You already have that, so there’s no need to proceed. What you clicked is only if you want to add Advanced Certificate Manager.
Just make user Universal SSL is enabled at the bottom of the Edge Certificates page.
