Can a Cloudflare zone delegate to another Cloudflare zone?

Good morning!

I’ve run into a bit of a ‘first’ and was hopeful to get a bit of guidance. We are Cloudflare customers, and create individual subdomain zones for each tenant on our app. For example:

  • our client is on somedomain.com whose DNS is with ultraDNS
  • we create foo.somedomain.com, and CF gives us josh and sue
  • they create NS records for the subdomain at the parent zone
  • everything is now properly wired

We have a new case, where the client’s DNS is actually Cloudflare as well.

My question is: If the parent DNS is on the client’s Cloudflare account, and we create a subdomain within Cloudflare, does this delegation via NS still work?
