What is the issue you’re encountering

Cannot Create a CAA ISSUEMAIL Record

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

There doesn’t seem to be any steps I can take, is there a way to manually add this record without using the UI? Maybe through the API?

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

  1. Attempt to create new record
  2. Select CAA as type.
  3. Select the CAA record tag - you can select ISSUE, ISSUEWILD, and IOCTL, however ISSUEMAIL isn’t available even though it was proposed as part of the standard in 2023 and has been a required part of the standard since March 2025.

From your screenshot, I do not see any error. Can you provide the exact error you are seeing when you try to create CAA record?

@hollynghiem The problem isn’t that I can’t create CAA records, it’s that the UX does not allow me to create “issuemail” CAA records. It’s not an option.

It looks like as a workaround I was able to import the record and create it that way.
