Bounceback or landing in spam

What is the name of the domain?

c2csleep.com

What is the error number?

550-5.7.1

What is the error message?

messages missing a valid message-id

What is the issue you’re encountering

outgoing mail is either delivered to spam boxes, or if to a google address it bounces back with the 550-55.7.1

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

reset proxy settings. had to change spf record to get a valid record (may still not be correct only valid?)

How are you creating the emails? Your own code or some plugin?

Missing Message-ID quite literally means that your email software did not add a Message-ID header to the email. It has nothing to do with SPF but is pretty much guaranteed to be caused by the software that creates the email.

creating from either the email app on my phone or through the webmail app on my laptop.
the c2csleep.com is only being used for email, as of now it does not have a website, altho i would like to point it to our main website. the email is hosted at whois.com, and after several attempts with them to fix it, one of their tech people suggested that i move the name servers over to cloudflare. but since doing that, it still has not helped and creating all the records has not been easy. dmarcian.com says my dmarc records are bad, but when i look at them they are exactly what it tells me to have.

You can only have one DMARC record. You probably want to keep the one with the Cloudflare address and delete the one containing your email address.

Can you just test your email with https://www.mail-tester.com and share a link to the report here?

looks like its a dumpster fire! lol! what i do not know is what records are being looked at on the whois site and what records are being looked at on the cloudflare site?

Well, I take back that messages missing a valid message-id means that the Message-ID header is missing, because apparently Google has other ideas…

None.

All.

You need to create the SPF record in Cloudflare. But again, you can only have one SPF record, so you need to merge it into your old record. What SPF record do you see in whois.com?

You also haven’t deleted your second DMARC record yet.

just deleted the record and here is the spf from whois: v=spf1 include:_spf.mailhostbox.com -all"

also i see the recommendation to edit the spf record, trying to rewrite the spf is one of the biggest headaches i have had

Change your SPF record in Cloudflare to v=spf1 ip4:209.99.17.56 include:_spf.mailhostbox.com -all

I assume 209.99.17.56 is your server IP?

the IP, i do not know. I see the suggestion from mail tester is : v=spf1 ip4:209.99.17.56 ip4:208.91.199.217 ~all Should I do that and put the include:mailhostbox that you suggest?

include:_spf.mailhostbox.com -all

No. You should change the record as suggested in my previous post.

ok, done

Sending emails should work now.

i just did a test, it mage it though to google, but still goes to spam in AOL

Can you just try that again in an hour? Your old DNS records might still be cached.

yes I will, thank you for all your help! i really appreciate it, as getting the email working correctly was a priority before finishing our course signup page. thank you again!
