I just bought a small company. The domain appears to be hosted by godaddy and the prior owners transferred the domain to me. No one at the company knows who/where the website was created and has not been edited for years. Website hosting listing cloudflare. Do i need to work with cloudflare to update the website? or can I tell if there is already a cloudflare account?
thank you for some basic direction
If you have control of the email, you can try to go to https://dash.cloudflare.com and select “Forgot your email” which will email the Cloudflare account owner.
If that doesn’t work, you’ll need to take control of the domain by changing the nameservers at Godaddy to the Godaddy defaults, those for a new Cloudflare account or other DNS provider. You’ll need to find out who the mail and
IP addresses returned from the wildcard (*) and mail in the DNS are for Godaddy… https://cf.sjr.dev/tools/check?737e5f2a2180495bbaf378ecea3d1bdd#dns
…so I would guess your site is hosted there as that’s where the domain is registered and was the last host that was public before going behind Cloudflare. Otherwise check for credit card payments to hosting companies.
thank you. I was able to figure out that the Domain is hosted by GoDaddy - I have that registered to me. I just cannot figure out who/how to update the actual website. Is there a way to figure out who/how to contact the person/entity who can edit the acutal site.
