Is anyone else going to migrate away after seeing the pricing email from last night?
Does anyone think this is good value?
5m loads is around $2400/month!!
Seems ridiculous when standard workers are billed at 0.50 / million requests. Hopefully there’s a typo somewhere – the quoted price is 1,000 times greater than the normal cost. I understand that zaraz probably invokes workers a couple times per page, but this is definitely not worth it.
Hmm. We’ll definitely have to stop using Zaraz, if the published pricing plans are real. A shame, really, as I just recently moved all our scripts into Zaraz. We really like it.
Working for a non-profit newsroom, I was also wondering if Cloudflare would potentially do some non-profit pricing – for the lesser funded folks?
Anyway, fingers crossed that there is a mistake in the calculations – for us, it’s definitely not possible to pay ~$800/mo for the 1M ish Zaraz loads we have a month…
Zaraz will not be able to be used by many people with average traffic.
Charging $0.50 per each 1,000 Zaraz loads above the included amount is too expensive.
I personally only use Zaraz for GA4. 200,000 loads will be consumed within 7 days.
So for the rest of the month, I would have to pay more than $300, which is unbelievably expensive, so I will be forced to forget about using Zaraz.
Yeah it is crazy. We are in the process of offboarding zaraz and close to turning it off. Such a shame.
As we announced on the Discord channel:
since we announced the pricing model for Zaraz a few months ago many of you have expressed their concerns and dissatisfaction with it. Last week we were planning to start enforcing pricing, but instead we have been discussing the feedback we received from Zaraz users, and I’m happy to be able to share now that we are postponing any pricing enforcement until we have a revisited pricing model for Zaraz. In simpler words, for now, there will be no usage based charges for Zaraz at all, and we will make sure to announce the new pricing well ahead of time when we know it. Meanwhile, we might reach out to some of you to hear more about how you’re using Zaraz and what value you’re getting from it.
I hope this little announcement will make everyone’s day a little brighter, and that sometime soon we can come with a new pricing announcement that more users will feel comfortable with.
Hi,
Whilst this is a good step and positive to see from Cloudflare, we have now fully migrated away from Zaraz with no intention of moving back as it stands. Just a shame it took too long to make this decision.
Thanks.
We are sorry to have lost you and we hope you will change your mind in the future.
Waited until the last couple days before the cutover hoping that you would re-evaluate your zaraz pricing. Glad that you’ve eventually decided to reconsider, but now that we’ve migrated away from zaraz, there’s no intention of moving back again. I hope you can take concerns people have raised months ago more into consideration before future pricing debacles.
I completely agree Erik!
