Automatic updates of encryption mode

What is the name of the domain?

All domains

What is the issue you’re encountering

Automatic updates of encryption mode

Was the site working with SSL prior to adding it to Cloudflare?

Yes

What is the current SSL/TLS setting?

Full (strict)

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

I have disabled automatic updates of SSL/TLS encryption mode for all my domains on Cloudflare. However, the automatic updates continue.

Is this a bug? Should I do some other configuration?

Hi there!

Sorry about the trouble with this.

I do not see any domains in the account with the email you posted from. Can you please post one of the domains you’re having an issue with, so we can check the account with the issue?

Hello again,

In checking that zone, it doesn’t looks like anything’s changed in a couple of weeks since Auto Update was disabled. Are you saying some of your zones are still switching modes?

If so, when was the last time saaelagoa.com.br changed on its own?

I have been receiving emails regarding this. Email received today:

Automatic SSL/TLS Updates

Hello ********* Account Administrator,

We have automatically updated the SSL/TLS encryption mode for the following zones:

Domain saaelagoa.com.br

updated from full to strict

Dashboard link to view the update: https://dash.cloudflare.com/*******/ssl-tls

Additional information about all SSL/TLS options can be found in Origin Server Configuration - Encryption Modes. You are receiving these emails because the automatic SSL/TLS updater is enabled for one or more of your domains. To disable it, turn off the automatic SSL/TLS updater in the dashboard.

Thank you,
Cloudflare Team

Thank you for sharing that.

Other than the email, are you seeing any SSL Mode changes taking place?

There are many domains that I manage and I do not maintain internal control over them.

Ok, this sounds like it’s more of an errant email issue than any settings changes. For reference, those emails go out on Fridays for any changes during the previous week.

If you’re seeing unexpected setting changes, please do let us know, and we’ll be happy to investigate. In the mean time, we are reviewing the email process to make sure it’s not running behind, or re-sending old alerts.
