APO switches OFF on its own

Hello all,
I have purchased the APO service on a free plan and installed the wordpress plugin correctly. After reading other articles I know that APO doesnt turn on from Cloudflare dashboard; so I am trying to do it from the Wordpress plugin. However after I switch it on and refresh the page, it turns off again and there seems to be no way to keep turned it on!

I have tried to put Nitropack in Safe Mode so that it doesnt conflict. I have also tried deactivating Wordfence. But none of these helped. There is no other caching plugin except Nitro.

I do see this error message occasionally but it goes away on its own - “cf-edge-cache response header is missing! Please clear any server cache used via other plugins”

Please advice what to do otherwise my purchase is a waste :frowning:

WEBSITE IN QUESTION: www.openbonnet.com

Another pointer to help get a response - the Cloudflare dashboard has the APO option now but the button is inactive and also it says it hasnt detected the wordpress plugin on my website (even though the installation is correctly done and APO option came in the plugin after I purchased)

If you have trouble getting APO activated please have a read here: Automatic Platform Optimization - Cannot detect WP or plugin - #10 by yevgen

Hello, thanks for your response. I have gone through the thread you shared but haven’t found any solution to the issue yet.

Can the Cloudflare TEAM look into this and fix whatever the issue is?

You don’t appear to be proxying traffic through Cloudflare.

$ dig www.openbonnet.com +short
103.xx.xx.73

APNIC lists that IP for Ovi Hosting Pvt Ltd:

$ whois 103.xx.xx.73
descr:          Ovi Hosting Pvt Ltd

Check that the relevant DNS record(s) (i.e. www) are proxied (orange-clouded).

Thanks for your reply. the DNS records are now proxied through Cloudflare. However the APNIC results are still pointing to the OVI hosting (server provider). What could I be doing wrong?

Propagation can take some time. It’s faster for changes to proxied records but can take longer for unproxied records though.

However, I can see that www now appears to be proxied:

$ dig www.openbonnet.com +short
172.67.218.219
104.21.53.215

Try enabling APO from within Cloudflare’s WordPress plugin again.

Hello, the plugin is still behaving the same. It switches off on its own as soon as the page is refreshed. And of course the Cloudflare dashboard is not recognizing the plugin being installed also. Also checked on UPTRENDS but the 3 response headers are not showing.

So does this mean its can’t work for my website?

I really want to see it work.
