Apache, Nginx and CloudFlare

Nginx reverse proxy for apache (with Plesk)
Is it compatible with Cloudflare?
It is compatible with APO for Wordpress?

I haven’t use that combination, but have seen issues with:

  1. cPanel having Apache and Nginx as a Reverse proxy
  2. Domain was on Cloudflare
  3. Issues regarding Nginx Reverse Proxy cache (static files - fastcgi, Engintron) and SSL issues

Depending how it is configured to work with each other Apache <-> Nginx.

Not sure if that can relate to Plesk.

I have two domains/websites using Plesk panel and Apache while both being proxied with Cloudflare. Working without any issues.

You have some wp cache plugin installed?

Usually I use WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache, depending on the Website type (not the same as having a city website or a news portal due to large traffic differences).

I also have APO for WordPress on few Websites running behind Cloudflare on Nginx (only, but not in combination with Apache) which I manage through ISPConfig interface.

Thank, do you know if LiteSpeed causes problems with cloudflare?

I am sorry but I am not familiar with LiteSpeed and Cloudflare.
But, I believe a :search: could provide you more information if other people have had some, so you could decide which one to use in your case

Thanks, I’ll try some options

Also yes.

If everything is configurated (which I assume is when using Plesk) then both things will work.

We use
Plesk Obsidian
Apache w/Nginx as reverse proxy
Cloudflare with APO
Wordpress (with Cloudflare Plugin)

Caching varies from site to site. We use edge caching & Argo on Cloudflare

We use that configuration on ALL our sites. AS yet, we have not (knock on wood! ) any compatibility issues

Hope that helps

how do you configure it?

I believe this question is out of the scope of this forums.

Kindly, you should have a look at for example here https://centminmod.com/, or even better for Apache/Nginx and Plesk, have a look at Plesk Support/Help Center How to install and enable nginx reverse proxy on a Plesk for Linux server – Plesk Help Center.

We actually didn’t do anything to Nginx - it comes with Plesk preconfigured
to work with Apache as they configure it. It can be setup also as a cache for
WP, but that tends to clash with Cloudflare and actually slows things down,
so we do NOT use the Nginx cache. Beyond that, we leave it be.

Ok, thanks, that’s what I wanted to know. It has been a great help to me.

Thanks for your help

One last question
Do you use APO only?
Or you have installed some more cache plugin in Wordpress
