Any way to see what is triggering Zaraz?

I set up GA4 with Zaraz about 38 hours ago. According to Analytics I’ve had about 150,000 pageviews, but I had an email about 4 hours ago that I’ve used 80% of the 1 million events quota :open_mouth:

Obviously there’s no need for Zaraz to be triggered on pageviews that Analytics doesn’t count.

Any suggestions on how to find what’s triggering those events?

  • you’re maybe using other events except for just Pageview
  • you maybe have another website on the same account that is also using Zaraz

The place to check this is under the Monitoring section in the Zaraz dashboard.

Thanks for the reply!

I looked under Zaraz > Monitoriing, but it doesn’t help too much as it only shows a total number for the day. I don’t see a way to break it down any further.

The “Actions” tab shows that it’s exclusively from Pageviews > Google Analytics 4.

I tried downloading the data hoping for something more, but it just gave the same total number with no break down :frowning:

I’m guessing that the issue is bots, but Configuration Rules doesn’t let me exclude cf.client.bot or cf.threat_score.

Unfortunately I hit the 1 million quota yesterday, so I can’t do any testing for another 2 weeks. It’s useless to me, though, if it’s tracking 500% more than it’s supposed to!

Zaraz supports bot blocking. It’s under the “Settings” page.
