Description

Allow us to allowlist specific domains for Image Transformations, instead of only being able to switch between “Resize from any origin” and limiting transformations to within a Cloudflare-enabled zone

Benefit

Currently, Image Transformations (formerly known as Image Resizing) only support either “Resize from any origin” or limiting transformations to within a Cloudflare-enabled zone.

We would like to request a feature that allows for allowlisting specific domains.

The reason behind this request is that we have images hosted on a domain that cannot be proxied through Cloudflare due to internal policies. Enabling “Resize from any origin” is not ideal for us as it poses the risk of unintended usage by others, potentially impacting our billing.

We believe that a domain allowlisting feature would be highly beneficial in such scenarios. Please let us know your thoughts on this.

Agree, except what if domainA has this, and also domainB.
DomainA enabled domainB to leverage and use this from domainA.

Should the billing :money_with_wings: count towards the customer who owns domainA because of this, or to the domainB? :thinking:

We’d have content from one domain showing on other, using Image Transformations on behalf of the 3rd domain. At the end, who’s paying for it?

What if someone gets fired, or leave the company, noone paying attention, then the abuse of such servise is ongoing and happen, how should Cloudflare as a service provider tolerate such cases and act upon it?
