what is the domain?

Hi Sir

My domain is www.ideagroup.co.id

I am Adhitya, founder and majority owner of Odea Group Indonesia, my business group.
Problem is, my old and fired management somehow purposely wanted to shutdown our corporate website and all email addresses related to the domain.

Now, i want to retrace and reactivate the domain and all emails to what it was. Unfortunately the emails now can only send but not able to receive incoming emails.

The admin email address {redacted} is the login for our Cloudflare account. But when i clicked forgot password, we cant receive the reset password.

Please please help us on this. We have a legal battle with the fraudulent old management, whereby so much evidence are buried in the emails that are now inactive and not accessible.

Thanks so much

Best

Adhitya

Hi @wadhityachandra I understand the issue and appreciate that the current situation is not good. If you cannot get the former management to cooperate, the only option is to add the domain (zone) to the account you are using here and change the nameservers at your registrar to the two in the account you can control.

Dear Sir

So happy to just know i get a reply. Thanks so much.

Forgive my stupidity on this matter please, but can you kindly explain how can i do that?

So there is no way Cloudflare can send the reset code to the admin email [email protected] copied to my other email address? I can use the admin email to send out just to prove we are the rightful owner.

IF not, so you mean i can register that old domain using my new Cloudflare account? How do I do that and how do I change the nameservers in the old account?

Again I am very weak on this tech issue. Please bear with me Sir

Thanks and best, adhitya

Unfortunately, no. We can only reply to emails from the account owner. This is a security mechanism to prevent bad actors from taking over your account. In this case, you need to get the person that signed up the account at Cloudflare to cooperate. It seems that is not an option (for others that read this thread later, if you could communicate with them and they were cooperative, they could add you as a member and then shift control to your, or they could simply share the login credentials and you could change the password & API key, or they could export the DNS records to make it easier for you to set the domain up in your own account - it seems they would not be willing to do any of these three actions). That leaves you with

Add the domain to the account you are using here, I show you have done that and the domain shows as pending. Take the two nameservers shown on https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/:zone/dns and contact your domain registrar and ask them to change the nameservers to those two. Once you do that and the change propagates, the zone (domain) will show as moved in the old account and as active in the new account.

There is another party involved and you’ll want to start by contacting them, that is your hosting provider, you are probably paying them every month to host your site. You’ll want to contact them and know the IP address of your origin server. Once you have added the site to your new account, you’ll want to edit the value of the A record to be the IP of your origin server. You’ll also need to address the issue of email, for that you’ll need to contact your email provider and ask them for details to set up your email on Cloudflare.

I’d rely heavily on these #tutorial to help you along the way as you make these changes
