Adding subdomain ONLY to Cloudflare to filter bot traffic

What is the issue you’re encountering

Our subdomain is hosted at KnownHost (forum.ukuleleunderground.com) and is having heavy bot traffic (11K+ requests in 3 min). They suggested Cloudflare, of whom I’m a fan, but CF appears to only support domains, whereas our domain (ukuleleunderground.com) is hosted at Siteground and not having any issues. I do intend to move everything to KH in the next month or so, but I need help with my bots now. Am I truly out of luck? Or is there a way to get past the registration screen, which is currently stopping me from proceeding?

The business plan allows you to add only subdomains to Cloudflare, it’s called a Partial Setup.

Otherwise, if you do add your whole domain, you can just make sure that you set all DNS records to DNS-Only, except for the one subdomain that you want to go through Cloudflare.

That way, if you imported all of your DNS records correctly to Cloudflare, nothing should change for your main site.

Thanks so much! I will try moving the whole domain to Cloudflare (which is what I planned to do eventually anyway), and then get to work on the subdomain.
