Adding site to cloudflare Issue

When I try to add some domains to Cloudflare I got this msg

The zone name provided is subject to a hold which disallows the creation of this zone. Please contact the domain owner to have this hold removed.

Any one in here know what is the issue ?

Well, the issue is very clear from the error message. There’s some sort of hold on the domain, meaning it’s not active.

If you can provide the domain name, we can check and let you know what specific “hold” there is on the domain and where to go for help.

If not, then you need to contact the company you registered the domain with to have this resolved.

Thank you for the reply. these 3 domains

  • opitgames.com
  • opitgames.net
  • opitgames.org
They are all in namecheap, as I check with them they said no issue on their side with these 3 domains

From public WHOIS lookups, I don’t see any hold on any of the three domains.

Several similar complaints were reported back in March, and this was supposedly resolved. But, apparently, not completely.

If you’re on a paid plan, then I’ll recommend you open a ticket from your Cloudflare dashboard so Cloudflare support can look into this for you.

If you’re not on any paid plan, then kindly hold tight for a Cloudflare staff or forum MVP to take this up and escalate it to Cloudflare support.

Good luck!

I’ve made the ticket #2787225 for us to continue troubleshooting with you. After raising this issue to our team, they noticed the zones are on an Enterprise account and that is why there is a hold on the domains. You’ll need to use whois to find the owner and ask if they’re interested in selling the domains.

Here is a whois tool - ICANN Lookup

Let us know if you have any questions.
