Adding a subdomain and CNAME record for Zoho custom domain

Hi Community

I am trying to setup a subdomain - billing.joystic.com so that I can create a custom domain for my Zoho Subscriptions software.

For the subdomain I created a CNAME record name: billing and target: joystic.com
After this per Zoho instructions I created another CNAME record
name: k3k2bp.subscriptions.cs.zohohost.com.au target: billing.joystic.com

Zoho is unable to verify the domain am I doing this right? It says I may have to wait for DNS servers to update could this be the issue?

Thanks

Is the CNAME record Proxied :orange: or DNS Only :grey:? Suggest the latter is what is required in this instance.

I’ve updated it to DNS only but it’s still unable to verify. I might leave it for 48 hours and test again. Thanks

I see a CNAME now.

% dig billing.joystic.com CNAME
billing.joystic.com.	300	IN	CNAME	joystic.com.

Based on your original post, the record should point to k3k2bp.subscriptions.cs.zohohost.com.au not joystic.com

Still not working. I deleted the request and tried a new setup. My two CNAME entries are now:
name: billing target: n4awzd.subscriptions.cs.zohohost.com.au
name: n4awzd.subscriptions.cs.zohohost.com.au target: billing.joystic.com

I see the record

% dig billing.joystic.com CNAME
billing.joystic.com.	300	IN	CNAME	n4awzd.subscriptions.cs.zohohost.com.au.

Do note, DNS propagation isn’t instantaneous, so it might take 5 minutes or 5 hours for Zoho to see the records.

Ok I’ll leave it overnight and hopefully it resolves. Thanks for your help!
