Add Website

#1

Hi, I did a website with a free domain who is codedavid.uphero.com (in 000webhost)
but I can’t add my website to CloudFlare

(I’ll use ‘,’ in this topic instead of ‘.’ because the link limitation)

Error:
We were unable to identify codedavid, uphero, com as a registered domain. Please ensure you are providing the root domain and not any subdomains (e.g., example, com, not subdomain, example, com) (Code: 1099)

I can’t add website with the free domain?
PS: codedavid, com already is a site but don’t mine
PSS: uphero, com already is a site but don’t mine

You can’t use Cloudflare when the main domain isn’t yours. uphero.com has its own DNS server that handles uphero and all subdomains under uphero. As the error says, it has to be a root domain.

So I can’t add the website because have the free domain…?

#4

If free domains from them are all subdomains, then yes. Some sites may offer non subdomain based on free.

#5

So I can add like codedavid.com? But it’s already other website… it’s alright??

#6

That should work just fine.

#7

It’s better not… I don’t want disturb the others sites…

#8

Don’t worry… if you don’t ‘own’ codedavid.com you won’t be able to add it to Cloudflare as you won’t be able to change the domain’s nameservers over to Cloudflare. To do that you’d need to be able to make changes at the codedavid.com registrar.
