I want to manage app.example.com on Cloudflare

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

My customer is the owner of example.com. I want to manage his sub-domain app.example.com. I cannot create a sub-domain app.example.com so i create a domain example.com and i aks to my customer to set NS of example.com on app.example.com. I try now to create CNAME app.example.com on example.com domain but it has no effect. How could i manage NS of app.example.com on Cloudflare?
