If I proxy the cname record from shop.shopify it gives an error message on the domain in the shopify dashboard and traffic wont proxy to cloudflare.
What feature, service or problem is this related to?
DNS records
What are the steps to reproduce the issue?
I need to know whether O2O needs to be enabled for my account or domain on Shopify’s end, or if I’m missing something in the DNS record setup for the zones to work correctly. When I leave the records set to DNS-only, as outlined in Shopify’s standard documentation, there are no error messages on Shopify, but the DNS points only to Shopify. However, if I try to proxy the CNAME record, as instructed in the O2O documentation, traffic won’t connect and the Shopify dashboard shows an error saying my DNS is not pointing to Shopify.
I see this shopify error and on cloudflare next to my CNAME record that has the shopify icon theres a warning that says “this hostname domain is not covered by any certificate”. Plus i have some redirect rules for the domain and they dont seem to apply. Im not sure if O2O is activated for my account or if it doesn’t require activation
O2O no longer needs activation, but you need to make sure that you’re using CNAME records instead of the A/AAAA records that Shopify normally tells you to use for your root domain.
This usually means that you’ve entered something incorrectly. Can you show a screenshot of your DNS records?
