Absolute neglect of my domain issue

What is the name of the domain?

smoothequity.trade

What is the error message?

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

What is the issue you’re encountering

My domain is completely unsupported

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I’ve created a community ticket that expired (Used to work, now DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN).

I’ve contacted Cloudflare (the registrar) multiple times. The “urgent” case has been open since January 9!

What else can I do?

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

DNS records

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Browse to http://smoothequity.trade

Have you tried tweeting or posting to Hacker News? Community volunteers don’t work for Cloudflare. While we can empathize with the terrible support you receive we can’t do anything beyond that.

I don’t understand what you expect from incorrectly configured records and proxying on the Nginx side?

I’m not sure I understand. What would I tweet or post? Why would it matter more in those places than here? Wouldn’t I just be complaining to a different audience that doesn’t work for Cloudflare?

Are you saying the bad press would motivate Cloudflare to finally make it right?

I’ve never experienced anything but seamless domain setups, so I am bewildered by this experience.

I’m not sure what you mean.

Are you saying I’ve done something wrong?

I don’t know what you mean about Nginx.

Could you please explain? If I’ve done something wrong, at least I’d be able to fix it. But I don’t think I have any control over this.

And you are correct in thinking that. The domain is banned by the registry, and there’s nothing you can do about that without Cloudflare Registrar support.

I’ve never heard of a domain being banned by the registry, and I have no idea why it was. I was never contacted about it. (And, by the way, the domain worked for a week or so, so that means that somebody came along later and removed it.)

And I can’t get Cloudflare to respond either.

What can I do to get somebody to do their job? Do I need to file a complaint with ICANN? Would that even help?

Since you mentioned a ICANN, lookup your domain here: https://lookup.icann.org/. You’ll see the Status has serverHold. Click the “serverHold” link to see the description on ICANN’s website.

And, yes, it’s your Registrar (Cloudflare) who should work with you to have this fixed.

Curious: was there ever ANY update since the January 22nd escalation email you mentioned in your previous topic on the same matter?

I received this on Feb 3 and have not gotten a response since. And they have ignored a few pings from me since then:

Hi there Lee,

Thanks for contacting Cloudflare Support.
I’m sorry to read that you’re experiencing difficulties.

Related to your query, I came to inform you that is still being held by our Engineering Team. I will ask you a little more patience on this. Thank you for it.

Best regards,
Jaime Carvalho | Technical Support Agent

I just don’t understand this at all. Why does the engineering team need weeks to get my domain working? And there’s nothing controversial about my content. So what on Earth is going on here??

Please explain.

I never heard back from you.

Still nothing. Do you have any suggestions?
