A past domain we owned has been hacked

We previously were managing a domain for a professional organisation - the registration lapsed and has been hacked with porn. Who is states the domain is registered with cloudflare but we cannot contact them to try and resolve the issue - please can anyone advise how we can get this site down?? or at least find out who currently is using it?

That’s not a hack. That’s just someone buying an abandoned domain. My old domains are often turned into parked pages with ads.

If this is a copyright or trademark issue, you can file an abuse report here: Abuse approach - Cloudflare.

You will receive a confirmation email with a confirmation code in the Subject. While the Trust and Safety team will review the details of your report, that may be the only reply you receive.

You can also report the site to your relevant local authorities. Complaints cannot be filed via this forum.

Thank you - how can I find out where and/or how to access the abandoned domain?? According to Who .is the domain is registered with Cloudflare??? So are you the owners now?

Cloudflare is no more the owner of domains registered using the Cloudflare registrar than GoDaddy, Namecheap, or any other registrar are the owners of the domains their users register. Cloudflare cannot provide you with any confidential information about their subscribers.

When you let the domain expire and someone else registered it when it became available, your options become quite limited. If you have concerns about how a lapsed domain may be used, it is best to maintain the registration, even if you choose to disable it in DNS.
