A chinese company is trying to register my website domain name for their client

A company in China sent me this email, about using my domain name for a Chinese brand. After I made it clear that it belongs to me they are insisting on using it. My domain name is https://dindustack.com

Email sent to me
Dear Manager,

If you are not the person who is in charge of this, please forward this to your CEO, because this is urgent. Thanks! We are a Network Service Company which mainly deal with the domain name registration in Shanghai, China.

On November 13, 2023, we received an application from requested “dindustack” as their internet keyword and China (CN) domain names( dindustack.cn/ dindustack.com.cn/ dindustack.net.cn/ dindustack.org.cn).

After checking it, we find this name conflict with your company name or trademark. To deal with this matter better, it’s necessary to send email to you and confirm whether your company have association with chinese company in China or not?

Kind regards

My response
Dear ,

Thanks for your email. I found it in my spam folder. Dindustack isn’t associated with or any Chinese company.

Best regards

Their response
To whom it concerns,

We will register the China domain names listed in previous emailsand internet keyword "dindustack” and have submitted our application. We are waiting for approval and think these CN domains and internet keyword are very important for our business. Even though advises us to change another name, we will persist in this name.

Best Regards

Any recommendations on how to handle this issue? Also can this be categorized as cyber-bullying?

This is a scam that’s been going on for years, they are just trying to get you pay them over-the-top for the .cn versions of your .com. You can just find a registrar that handles .cn and register them yourself if you want to protect them.

Thanks for your response!!
