523 Error but DNS is correct

Over night last night one of my domains is getting a 523 error. I made no changes to the DNS and when I set my hosts file to the IP of the server it works fine. My site host says this is a Cloudflare problem. I’ve tried all of the suggestions in the quick troubleshooting guide but no luck. The only way I can get the site to work is if I disable Cloudflare on the site. Any ideas on where I should go next? Thanks.

Yes I did. I’d rather not post the domain in a public form as it’s an app for a client. I also have disabled cloudflare because it’s the only way to get it to work. So you won’t see the error.

  • No always on
  • IP correct
  • DB is localhost

Web host says all good. Hmm. Very frustrating.
