I set up my ddns on my server for my domain name and added a DNS record ‘A’ with my server’s ip. Unfortunately, when I try to access my site, I get a 523 error.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I check on cloudflare if my IP was good and it was and I click “Test connection” on the host for testing the DDNS provider connection and it was good aswell.

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

DNS not responding/updating

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

I just use a online script to setup the DDNS (GitHub - insistent-afk/cloudflare-ddns-for-synology: Using Cloudflare DDNS for Synology DSM 7.x).
Everythings is ok, once I put DDNS on my host, it changes well the A records to set my current IP adress.
But now when I try to reach the website through my domain name it failed.

Error 523: origin is unreachable

Error 523 occurs when Cloudflare cannot contact your origin web server. This typically occurs when a network device between Cloudflare and the origin web server doesn’t have a route to the origin’s IP address.

Resolution Contact your hosting provider to exclude the following common causes at your origin web server:

  • Confirm the correct origin IP address is listed for A or AAAA records within your Cloudflare DNS app.
  • Troubleshoot Internet routing issues between your origin and Cloudflare, or with the origin itself.
