522 error after installing Cloudflare

I just set up my website with Cloudflare, but I can’t get into the settings from within Wordpress. Since Cloudflare is active, I keep getting a 522 error. I use Elementor to build the website, but I am unable to use the builder since the website is performing poorly and in a switching on- and offline state.

I don’t know how to solve this issue, can anyone help me?

#communitytip 522 error

I just read about this problem: Cloudflare error without cloudflare connection.

The error 1001, which can be seen in the screenshot from the user encoresin (his second post), can also be seen when I deactivate and unlink my website from Cloudflare.

Any suggestions?

^ I did the :search: and this came up:

I’m not seeing it, clear cache & try incognito or mobile. If you’re still seeing a 522 that we’re passing from the origin, I’d suspect #3 in the tip quick fix ideas.

Were you able to fix this issue? I just started experiencing the same thing on my site. Hosted at A2Hosting, Namecheap domain pointing to Cloudflare DNS. Issues only occur for me when I’m logged in. Can’t use the visual builder with Elementor and I keep getting 522 errors every now and then when browsing the site and the admin area.

Hi Rasmus1,

Excuse me for the late response, I’ve been away a couple of days.

As for your question: No, the issue still isn’t fixed. I also keep seeing the 522 error, but the problem seems to be only site-administrator related, since other devices don’t see these interrupted connections. I have another website: https://waanzennig.nl where to problem occurs as well.

Were you able to fix the issue already? I think it has something to do with the connection Cloudflare is making to the origin server. I therefore downloaded the Cloudflare Origin SSL certificate and imported it on my host webserver, but that also didn’t seem to work.

Can anyone from Cloudflare point us in the right direction?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
Joeyzo
