The article shows a couple of variations of the page that can you help you track down the source of the error.
If you see a black & white 502 error screen, check which data center you are reaching with a traceroute to your domain. Directions for creating a traceroute can be found here: https://support.cloudflare.com/entries/22050846-how-do-i-run-a-traceroute. Next, would you be able to provide post the output from https://www.cloudflare.com/cdn-cgi/trace?
If you see a color page, review your server’s HTTP access and error logs as they should confirm the response code is being returned by your web server access logs and give some indication as to why.
