404 Not Found error after switching to Cloudflare nameservers

Hi,

I’m hosting the website inline-speedskating.com on strato.de and after creating a Cloudflare account, I switched the NS-Records under the DNS Domain Settings on the Strato Dashboard, but since I use the Cloudflare nameservers, I’m getting a 404 Not Found error when trying to access my website (The requested URL was not found on this server).

Former nameservers (Strato): shades04.rzone.de & docks08.rzone.de
New nameservers (Cloudflare): elaine.ns.cloudflare.com & vern.ns.cloudflare.com

What can I do to fix the error and view my website?

Hi @eliasfink,

Unfortunately, Strato make it very difficult to use Cloudflare on a site that they host. Unless you have a dedicated IP, they change your IP address very frequently. Unless this gets updated in Cloudflare every time it is changed, the website will not continue to function. I would suggest that you see if you can get a dedicated IP or consider switching hosts if you want to use Cloudflare.

Good point to start if you want to stay with Strato:

Btw. the description of this prefix is funny and could probably be the reason for infrequent changes of IP addresses
