20 second delay on one specific CSS file

What is the issue you’re encountering

I am experiencing a 20 second delay when loading my website when a specific plugin is enabled. If I disable either the plug-in OR the Cloudflare cache, the issue goes away. The delay is always on the file https://blisstech.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/wp-logo-showcase-responsive-slider-slider/assets/css/slick.css which returns a 304.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I noticed this yesterday. I had turned on default WAF rules and installed the Cloudflare WP plugin so assumed one of these was the issue. I disabled WAF, and then the plug-in but no change. I put Cloudflare into dev more, bingo. I turn off dev mode, the issue returns. I disable the plug-in, there are no problems.

I cannot reproduce the same anymore. Are you still encountering such issue?

This seems to be intermittent. I checked yesterday and it was fine but I assumed this was because it was in Dev Mode, but that seemed to have disabled itself automatically. It was fine all day yesterday but then in the evening it was playing up again for a few minutes from my mobile, then it was working again.

I don’t know what is going on but I can see that the slick.css that was hanging is now referencing an earlier version (3.8.3) than shown in the screenshot. This is the correct version for the plugin so the fact it was calling a 4.x version when I was having the problem makes me suspicious.

Everything seems to be working fine now so I will just keep an eye on it.
