I have added many domains to Cloudflare, but I have never seen this before. Two pages of arbitrary A-records were detected by Cloudflare, which do not exist where our domain is currently hosted. Is this a security issue?
Hi @markDC,
Could it be that you have a wildcard DNS record at your host which causes Cloudflare to import all the records it scans for?
Yes, but so do our other domains that we have added to Cloudflare, and never have we gotten such a long list of irrelevant records.
Not sure why that would be if the setup is the same on other domains you have added. Maybe someone else here has seen it before.
I removed the site and added it again. This time it returned a list of DNS records identical to our host’s. That it previously found 200 unrelated records is a bit unsettling.
That is strange. No idea why that would have happened, I’m afraid. Support may be able to clarify and if you do find out, please let us know!
