CNAME for a subdomain pointing to a pages gives an error

Googled, banged my head against the wall, did the chicken dance…all to no avail.

Create CF account 1 (CF1)
Register domain with Cloudflare
Create pages for domain
Create pages for sub.domain
Create CF account 2 (CF2)
Delete pages for domain
Move domain from CF1 to CF2 using the (beta) tool
Recreate pages for domain in CF2
Recreate pages for sub.domain in CF2
Visit sub.domain

Solved.

The way I solved this is to keep the CNAME so the subdomain is registered but then add a Redirect Rule in the domain’s site which redirects sub.domain to the.actual.domain.
