1.1.1.1 DNS issue in Azure Traffic Manager

There is a service in Microsoft Azure called Azure Traffic Manager this is an explain in Microsoft docs.

The problem is that 1.1.1.1 DNS can’t find the IP address of the website that uses the service, but when i try with google 8.8.8.8 DNS it works.

This is an example website using the service https://schools.madrasati.sa

It seems to me that the hostname which your domain is CNAME’d to doesn’t have any IP assigned to it. Fix that on Azure.

@matteo is correct:

# dig @8.8.8.8 schools.madrasati.sa
; <<>> DiG 9.16.1-Ubuntu <<>> @8.8.8.8 schools.madrasati.sa

;; Got answer:
;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 19944

schools.madrasati.sa. 8 IN CNAME schoolsvschoolsa.trafficmanager.net.

and resolving schoolsvschoolsa.trafficmanager.net.
yields:

# dig @8.8.8.8 schoolsvschoolsa.trafficmanager.net

To me 8.8.8.8 doesn’t reply like that. It seems an error with Azure.

I tried to use a VPN. It seems that a DNS request cannot be made outside of KSA.
