bug

#1

1.1.1.1 / 1.0.0.1 Dns doesn’t work on ORIGIN
i have noticed that it capped my speed to 1MB/s.

my UP/DOWN Speed is 50Mbps

but when trying to use Google DNS which is 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4

everything is going well hope you guys fix this problem

Thanks!

These are DNS resolvers not proxies. Cloudflare is not responsible for cuts in your internet bandwidth.

You send a DNS request, the IP gets resolved and your router connects directly to the destination via its IP address.

i see thanks for the clarifications my friend <3

Maybe ORIGIN uses a stupid CDN which relies on the location of the DNS?

#5

Because it’s easier to detect the used resolver than using the clients IP address? If they would, I would have the same issue.

It’s an anycast network, same as OpenDNS, Google, Quad9. All users would have issues.

Well, Akamai does this:

ISP's Nameserver (217.237.149.142):
www.ebay.de is an alias for slot11847.ebay.com.edgekey.net.
slot11847.ebay.com.edgekey.net is an alias for e11847.g.akamaiedge.net.
e11847.g.akamaiedge.net has address 92.123.42.92

Cloudflare:
www.ebay.de is an alias for slot11847.ebay.com.edgekey.net.
slot11847.ebay.com.edgekey.net is an alias for e11847.g.akamaiedge.net.
e11847.g.akamaiedge.net has address 2.18.234.244
